CONCEPT
Rabarama da sempre studia e analizza segni e simboli di diversa origine per cercare di riassumere, ma soprattutto visualizzare, i concetti della propria ricerca artistica al fine di riuscire ad avere un impatto più universale.
Nella cultura orientale, e più nello specifico in quella giapponese, la carpa koi (appunto dalla sua radice etimologica) simboleggia molteplici valori e virtù, oltre ad essere più in generale portatrice di buona fortuna. È un animale dotato di grande bellezza, energia ma anche determinazione. La sua capacità di nuotare controcorrente per risalire i fiumi l’ha fatto eleggere simbolo di anticonformismo, integrità, e indipendenza. Per questa ragione, in omaggio al suo grande coraggio, è molto spesso rappresentata in movimento o ornata di linee che rievocano l’impeto dell’acqua.
Hic et Nunc è una promessa di libertà: è dedicata a tutti coloro che vivono nonostante la paura, che non si fanno abbattere dalle difficoltà ma che trovano nella propria consapevolezza la forza di andare avanti. È un monito: la vita è qui, la vita è adesso.
Rabarama has always studied and analyzed signs and symbols of different origins to try to summarize, but above all visualize, the concepts of his artistic research to succeed in having a more universal impact. In oriental culture, and more specifically in Japanese culture, the koi carp (from its etymological root) symbolizes multiple values and virtues, as well as being more generally a bearer of good luck. It is an animal endowed with great beauty, and energy but also determination. Its ability to go against the current to swim upstream rivers has made it a symbol of nonconformity, integrity, and independence. For this reason, as a tribute to its great courage, it is very often depicted in motion or adorned with lines that evoke the rush of water.
This creature wants to remind us that our willpower is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal: tenacity and perseverance are essential to staying focused and above all achieving our goals.
Hic et Nunc is a promise of freedom: it is dedicated to all those who live in spite of fear, who do not let difficulties get them down, but who find in their awareness the strength to go on. It is a reminder: life is here, and life is now.
